Our Manufacturing ProcessWhatley's manufacturing process was patented in 1975.
Twenty strands of continuous filament wound fiberglass strands are spiral wrapped around revolving mandrels to create a Whatley lighting pole. Resin is applied by pulling the fiber strands through a resin bath. Over 10,000 miles of continuous fiberglass filaments are used in every pole.
