Whatley Composite Light Pole Standards
Tough, durable and time proven, Whatley offers the popular Tapered Round (TR Series) and Straight Square (SS Series) composite light poles, which are ideal for a wide range of installations where functional outdoor lighting is required.
Tapered Round Light Poles
The core of Whatley’s extraordinary tapered round pole strength is continuously wound fiberglass. Advanced manufacturing technology is utilized to spiral wrap fiberglass filament strands around revolving mandrels. More than 10,000 miles of continuous fiberglass filament is used in every tapered round pole. The filament strands are saturated with a resin before being wound for consistent strength and quality.
A system of combining low and high angle wraps results in outstanding pole durability. Whatley composite poles are engineered to meet ANSI C136.20-2012 specifications. Poles may be ordered and specified to meet AASHTO, Florida Building Code, or other local codes and requirements

Straight Square Light Poles
Whatley offers 4" x 4" poles in heights up to 25-feet and and 5" x 5" poles in heights up to 30-feet.
Square composite poles are preferred by many architects, engineers, and planners. The poles are contemporary and durable, yet lightweight. These poles provide superb ease of installation and often do not require heavy lifting equipment.
Durable enough to embed directly in the ground
Whatley composite, fiberglass poles provide an affordable solution to many, since the product can be direct-embedded into most any soil. The poles will not rust, rot, or decay even when subjected to frequent moisture, salt, de-icing solutions, fertilizers, and other harsh conditions.
With that said, the product can be used with anchor bases, and will still provide all the same benefits in tough environments.
